Proof Loading

If the time-dependant settlement behaviour (visco-elastic creep, consolidation) when testing the outer load-carrying capacity is significant, then a settlement test does not suffice. A proof loading to DIN EN 1997-1 is then carried out. This can also be necessary for estimating the settlement in retrospective foundation laying for an additional floor.

Stressed and Relieved

In proof loading, the pile is cyclically stressed and relieved while the pile load is incrementally increased. The vertical movement of the pile is protocolled during the entire procedure. This settlement and lifting allow highly sophisticated conclusions to be drawn as to the load-carrying behaviour of the pile and the characteristics of the ground.
